Archicon goes Pop-up for Berlin Design Week

A huge success for the Archicon furniture agency’s pop-up showroom at the Anna Probst Gallery in Berlin!

For Berlin Design Week, Andre Flinterhoff of Archicon designed a temporary showroom in Anna Probst’s beautiful art gallery in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. Selected pieces of furniture for the office and home were displayed in an exclusive space that also showcased extraordinary works by Spanish artist Javier León Pérez during Berlin Design Week.

For Berlin Design Night as part of BDW, we jointly hosted a festive evening that drew numerous visitors and design enthusiasts. It was an evening filled with interesting conversations and new connections. The audience was a diverse mix of interior designers, architects, entrepreneurs, creatives, and art and design enthusiasts.

 

Gallery owner Anna Probst comments: „Typically, a gallery is intentionally designed as a ‘white cube’—an empty, neutral space—so that the art takes center stage and nothing distracts from it. However, the idea of occasionally allowing the art to interact with selected real-world objects also offers us an exciting new way to present it. Dimensions and scale thus become even more immediately tangible for our visitors, and they gain an idea of how art can interact with other objects to create a holistic experience. Archicon’s selection of properties is a real asset to us.“

 

For Berlin Design Week, a uniquely beautiful studio has been created that will have an impact beyond the boundaries of space and time.

 

André Flinterhoff: “The installation confirmed to me that, from time to time, spaces need to be created where specific products and solutions can be presented in a way that makes their dimensions and materials tangible. It’s about the interplay between practical function and the piece of furniture as a design object. We achieved this balance particularly well in Anna Probst’s gallery.”

 

The response was so positive that we are considering repeating the event for the next Berlin Design Week.
